Summerfesty is The Fest mascot pictured on this page asking what the deal is. He is a benevolently anthropomorphized monolithic column of cellulose representing what is and what ought to be. He’s the man!

The Amphibians are a local swamp funk band led by the enigmatic front man Duane the Red. Their dream is to one day play at The Fest. Their nightmare is that the Shotgun Toting Tortoise Squad will murder them before they ever get the chance. Their attendance at The Fest 2026 is not expected; however, they are as unpredictable as their swamp funk improvisations.

So many things! #1 - We all pitched in together and started a special fund for the nurses at Ann B. Barshinger’s Cancer Institute. As a celebration of that, we put on one heck of a show!

Cris Jacob’s surprised the place with an unannounced set. They honored Gail Mitchell with a version of “Angel From Montgomery”. A fireworks display lit up the grounds along with gigantic FEST 2026 balls. Space Boogie fought a late night rain storm with Jeff Beck majesty. UZO jammed a set of Meters-inspired funk. Mills Family Band returned and played another tune for Gail, “All The Ways.” Nucleus Trio was a new revelation to all FEST music fans. The Signature Move grooved that Amphibians-like swamp boogie. The Ben Shirk Prawject returned with the most avant-garde version of Little Feat’s “Willin” ever.

That was the musical line up. The people are the real special sauce! The Lovely Ladies kept the whole event running with kindness, smiles, cool attitudes, and fun dance moves. We had a great food truck with Chef Tony. For the kids, we had a face painting station, a sno-cone stand, and an imaginative water park.

Summerfest, the mascot of The FEST, he grew again. He got up to 16 feet tall and 3 feet wide. If the FEST ever happens again, he’ll be around Godzilla size.
